You could call her an expert on scents, or rather a scent scientist and definitely a scent artist. Anyways, her passion is not tangible but sensable, because Madame Tolaas’ passion are molecules and she simply calls herself „a professional in-betweener“. And for those of you who like to get to know more about the Norwegian – she’s currently being featured in Kai von Rabenau’s magazine mono.kultur issue #23. And thus ranked among personalities likeTilda Swinton or Ai WeiWei (see mono.kultur’s archive).
The magazine by the way, comes with „12 scents that are literally printed into the magazine“. And on top tonight Madame Tolaas will be live and present in Berlin: The artist (she studied fine arts and chemistry and math and linguistics in five different cities!) is holding an introduction on her work which will be followed by a discussion and music afterwards.
P.S.: For those who’d like to get a glimpse on her beforehand – not too long ago she’s been featured in Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin’s category „Sagen sie jetzt nichts“ (Don’t say a word).
